Onlink vs Calendly: a free alternative for paid calls

Onlink's orange app icon on the left and Calendly's blue C icon on the right, a VS label between them, on a background split diagonally into peach and pale blue

A free Calendly alternative is worth looking for when the meeting you book is one you charge for. Calendly's free plan schedules unlimited one-on-one meetings from "One event type", but taking payment at booking is printed under Standard, at $12 a seat a month or $10 billed yearly, per Calendly's pricing page read on 6 September 2026. Onlink puts a booking card on its free plan: the visitor picks a slot, pays from your page on Stripe's checkout, comes back, and gets a Google Meet link, and the only charge is 10% of the sale. This guide compares the two on price, on what a paid call costs, on where the money goes, on what the person booking sees, on what each page holds and on how much of it you can change, with every Calendly number from Calendly's pages and every Onlink number from the Onlink pricing page.

The short version: Calendly is a scheduler, and a good one, with five video tools on every plan, and six calendars checked for conflicts and reminders on its paid plans; Onlink is a link in bio page that sells, and a paid call is one card on it, next to your photos, videos, digital products and courses. If the meeting is free, Calendly's free plan books it, and on Onlink a free meeting is a link card like any other; if the meeting is paid, Onlink's booking card takes the money on the free plan at 10%, and Calendly asks for $12 a seat a month first.

We read Calendly's pricing page, its plan guide, its Stripe, PayPal and video conferencing help pages and its free plan post in a browser on 6 September 2026, and put the seven questions below to both. Every Calendly line is that page's own words or numbers, and every Onlink number comes from the constants the product charges on, which the Onlink pricing page prints.

  • The free plan: what it does for a booking, and whether it takes payment.
  • Price: each plan, monthly and billed yearly, and what a seat is.
  • The paid call: what a call keeps on each plan, and where the seat and the fee meet.
  • The money: which account receives it, in which currencies, and who handles tax and refunds.
  • The person booking: what they see and what they get.
  • The page: what each product holds around the booking.
  • Design: what the page is, and what you can change on it.

Is there a free version of Calendly?

Yes: Calendly's pricing page prints a Free plan, "Always free", with "One event type", "One calendar connection", "One-on-one scheduling", a "Customizable booking page" and the browser extension, and its plan guide adds that on Free you "Create one event type and schedule unlimited meetings". What the free plan does not include is payment: "Collect payments at booking via Stripe and PayPal" is marked off for Free in the plan table, and the Stripe help page lists the plans that can, "Professional, Standard, Standard Plus, Teams, Teams Plus, and Enterprise".

The Calendly lines are from its pricing page, plan guide, video conferencing help page and free plan post, each read on 6 September 2026; "marked off for Free" means the plan table prints a dash in the Free column for that row. We built the booking card for the free plan on purpose: the part of the product a creator needs to get paid should not sit behind a subscription, so a paid call, like a digital product or a course, is on Free, and the subscription is for a lower fee and more tools.

How much does Calendly cost?

Calendly costs $0 on Free, $12 a seat a month on Standard or $10 billed yearly, $20 a seat a month on Teams or $16 billed yearly, and Enterprise, which the page prints as "Starts at" "$15k" a year, "Starts at 50 seats" and "Available in USD only", per its pricing page read on 6 September 2026; the page adds that "Seats are required for users to connect calendars and host Calendly meetings". Onlink's three plans, from the Onlink pricing page, are Free at $0, Pro at $12.50 a month or $10 a month billed annually, and Premium at $37.50 a month or $30 a month billed annually.

Sources, each read on 6 September 2026: Onlink pricing, Calendly's pricing page, Calendly's plan guide, Calendly's Stripe help page and the Calendly pages linked where each fact appears. Calendly's Standard Plus and Teams Plus, which add its Notetaker and Callie AI tools, are on the same pricing page; they change nothing about payments, so the table stops at Teams. Calendly prints no fee of its own on a booking; the cost of taking payment there is the seat, every month, whether the month has one paid call or fifty.

On Onlink a $50 call keeps $45 on Free, $46.50 on Pro and $50 on Premium, before Stripe's processing fee; on Calendly it keeps $50 before the processor's fee, and the seat costs $12 a month, or $10 billed yearly, whether or not anyone books. The table takes each plan in turn.

A $50 paid call on each plan, before the processor's fee, per each site's own pages on 6 September 2026
PlanOnlinkCalendly

Plan with no feePremium ($37.50 a month, $30 a month billed annually): $50 to youStandard, billed yearly ($10 a seat a month): $50 to you

Which costs less depends on how much you sell in calls each month. Calendly Standard at $12 a month costs the same as Onlink's 10% fee on $120 of paid calls; billed yearly, its $10 equals the fee on $100. Below those figures Onlink Free costs less, because the fee is smaller than the seat. Above them Calendly's seat costs less than Onlink Free's fee, and Onlink Free is still the cheapest Onlink plan until the fee reaches Premium's price, at $300 of calls a month billed annually or $375 billed monthly; past that the choice is two flat prices, Onlink Premium at $30 against Calendly Standard at $10, and Calendly's seat is the lower of the two.

  • You book nothing paid this month: Onlink Free costs $0; Calendly Standard costs $12, or $10 on yearly billing.
  • You sell one $50 call: Onlink Free costs $5; Calendly Standard costs $12.
  • You sell $120 of calls: Onlink Free and Calendly Standard monthly both cost $12.
  • You sell $1,000 of calls: Onlink Free costs $100; Onlink Premium costs $37.50, or $30 on annual billing; Calendly Standard costs $12, or $10 on yearly billing.

The processor's fee is left out of every line because Stripe or PayPal charges it on both. Nothing on Onlink is charged until a sale happens, so the arithmetic says to start on Free and move to Premium once your monthly calls pass $300 on annual billing, or $375 on monthly; on Calendly the seat comes first. What the Onlink price buys past that point is the rest of the page, not only the booking.

Where does the money go, and how do you get paid?

On both, the payment goes to a Stripe account that is yours, and on Calendly it can be PayPal instead. Onlink pays each sale into your own Stripe account through Stripe Connect, with the fee taken at the moment of payment; Calendly's Stripe help page, read on 6 September 2026, says "Each user must connect their own Stripe account to collect payments for personal event types" and that the account "must be in live mode to accept real payments".

The Calendly quotes are from its Stripe help page and PayPal help page, each read on 6 September 2026. On the money the two are alike: neither holds it, and both send you to your own processor for refunds and tax. The differences are the second rail, PayPal on Calendly, and the currencies, 5 on Calendly's Stripe integration against 6 on Onlink, which includes BRL.

What does the person booking see?

On Onlink they open your page, tap the booking card, pick a day and a slot shown in their own time zone, pay, and get the Google Meet link by email and in a library at app.on.link under Bookings, with a receipt. On Calendly they open your booking link, pick a slot, confirm, and "receive full Zoom details automatically" in the calendar invite and confirmation email, per its video conferencing help page read on 6 September 2026.

What they getThe Google Meet link by email and in their library at app.on.link under Bookings, with a receipt"receive full Zoom details automatically" in the calendar invite and confirmation email, per the video help page

The two flows differ in what surrounds the slot. A Calendly booking page is the event type and the calendar; an Onlink booking card sits on the page that holds your photos, video, links and the other things you sell, so the person deciding whether to book can see the work first. On Onlink the card shows your availability by weekday, blocks the dates you close, hides a slot once it is full, creates the meeting in your Google Calendar with its Meet link, and takes one attendee or a group of up to 50 per slot; on Calendly the free plan's "One event type" does the same for one kind of meeting, and the paid plans add reminders, a cancellation policy and team scheduling.

What does each page hold?

Onlink's page is a bento grid of cards you place yourself: photos, videos, links, notes, a map, Spotify and YouTube cards, an Instagram card of your posts or reels, and the paid cards for digital products, courses, paid calls, donations and tips, all on the free plan. Calendly's page is a booking page for one or more event types, embedded on a site or shared as a link, with the scheduling, routing and AI tools around it on the paid plans, per its pricing page and plan guide read on 6 September 2026.

The Calendly lines are from its pricing page, plan guide and video conferencing help page, each read on 6 September 2026. Onlink does not offer a reminder sequence of its own, calendar conflicts across several calendars, team scheduling, routing forms, webhooks, invoices or AI recaps; if the booking is the whole job, Calendly prints all of that from $12 a seat a month. What Onlink puts around the booking is the rest of a creator's page, and it takes the payment on the free plan.

How much of the page can you change?

On Onlink, almost all of it, and on every plan: the page is a grid of cards you drag into place, laid out once for the desktop and once for the phone, with the background as a colour, a gradient or a pattern on Free and as a photo or a video on Pro and Premium, and no Onlink branding badge on any plan. Calendly's pricing page, read on 6 September 2026, prints a "Customizable booking page" and "Custom branding on the booking page" on every plan, and "Remove Calendly branding" and "Customize colors when you add Calendly to your website" marked off for Free.

Getting startedPick a handle and the page exists; add a booking card, connect your Google account, set your hours; nothing to install, no codeConnect a calendar, set availability, share the link; "Mobile app and browser extension"

The Calendly lines are from its pricing page, read on 6 September 2026. The difference a creator feels is in what the page is for. A Calendly page exists to book the meeting, and its customisation is the branding around a calendar; an Onlink page exists to show what you make and sell it, and the booking card is one card on a grid you arrange, next to the video that makes someone want the call, in a layout you set for the desktop and again for the phone.

What matters more than price?

For a creator whose call is paid, what matters more than the price is whether the first paid booking costs anything before it happens, and what surrounds the slot when someone decides. Of the two, the lowest risk is the plan that takes the payment on its free plan and puts the call beside the work that sells it, because a seat paid every month is a cost with no booking behind it.

On Onlink the first paid call costs nothing up front and 10% of the price; on Calendly it costs the Standard seat first, $12 a month or $10 billed yearly, and 0% after. The seat and the fee meet at $120 of calls a month on monthly billing and $100 on yearly; below that Onlink Free costs less, above it the seat does, and past $300 of calls Onlink Premium at $30 a month billed annually stands against Calendly's $10, both at 0%. Calendly's free plan books the free meeting; Onlink's free plan books the paid one.

It depends on whether the call is paid and what else the page has to hold, and the table takes it case by case. For a paid call before you pay anything, for the call beside your photos, video and products, and for a page with no platform badge, the answer is Onlink; for free meetings, several calendars, a reminder sequence, round-robin or routing it is Calendly, and between $120 and $300 of calls a month, or $375 on monthly billing, Calendly's seat is the lower price.

Sell more than $300 of calls a monthEither flat price, both at 0%: Calendly Standard at $10 a seat billed yearly is the lower; Onlink Premium at $30 a month billed annually carries the page and 0% on everything else you sell

Per the pages linked under the tables above, read on 6 September 2026. The same cases, with the reason behind each pick:

  • You charge for the call and sell less than $120 of calls a month: Onlink Free at 10% costs less than Calendly Standard's $12 seat.
  • You want the call next to your photos, videos, products and courses, on a page you arrange for the desktop and the phone: Onlink, on every plan.
  • You want no platform badge on the page: Onlink on every plan; Calendly removes its branding on the paid plans.
  • You charge for the call and sell between $120 and $300 a month: Calendly Standard's seat costs less than Onlink Free's 10%; Onlink Free is still the cheapest Onlink plan in that band, and it carries the rest of the page.
  • You sell more than $300 a month: two flat prices, Onlink Premium at $30 a month billed annually or Calendly Standard at $10 billed yearly; both keep the whole price before the processor's fee, and Calendly's is the lower.
  • The meetings are free: Calendly Free books unlimited one-on-one meetings from one event type; on Onlink a free meeting is a link card, and the booking card is the one that takes payment.
  • You need a reminder sequence, several calendars, round-robin or routing: Calendly, from $12 a seat a month; Onlink does not offer them.

Every Calendly number in this list comes from the pages linked above, read on 6 September 2026; if Calendly changes a price, its pricing page is the place to check. Onlink's are on the Onlink pricing page.
